The seventh phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2024 will be held on June 1 and the results will be out on June 4. In this seventh phase of elections, voting is going to be held on 13 seats of UP. In this last phase, the strength of the veteran leaders of the ruling and opposition parties will be tested.
Except for Ghazipur and Ghosi, NDA has control over 11 seats in UP. While PM Modi is contesting from Varanasi, the strength of UP CM Yogi Adityanath is also to be assessed in Gorakhpur. TMC is contesting the Bhadohi seat with the alliance.
If we talk about the Lok Sabha elections 2019, BJP was contesting on 11 seats in UP and won on 9. BJP’s ally Apna Dal (S) won both the seats of its quota. Apna Dal (S) and Om Prakash Rajbhar’s party Subhaspa have claimed 2 seats.
Praveen Nishad, son of Nishad Party chief Sanjay Nishad, was a candidate from Sant Kabir Nagar. Elections have been held in Sant Kabir Nagar, but in the last phase, the number of Nishad voters is also high. In 2019, BSP won in Ghazipur and Ghosi. This time there is a contest between SP and BJP here.
This time there are chances of a contest in Gorakhpur division. Out of 13 seats in UP, 6 Gorakhpur, Bansgaon, Maharajganj, Kushinagar, Deoria and Salempur are part of Gorakhpur division. Here CM Yogi is an MLA in Sadar.
In 2019, even after the alliance of SP and BSP, the difference in BJP’s victory in Gorakhpur, Kushinagar, Maharajganj was more than 3 lakh. BJP won by 2.50 lakh votes in Deoria, 1.53 lakh votes in Bansgaon, and 1.12 lakh votes in Lempur.
In the 2022 assembly elections, BJP won 27 out of the 30 assembly seats falling under these Lok Sabha seats, and only two seats went to the SP alliance and one seat to Congress. Out of these 6 seats, SP is contesting on three seats and Congress on three seats.
There will be a tough fight between BJP’s current MP Ravindra Kushwaha and Ramashankar Rajbhar in Salempur Lok Sabha seat. BJP’s Vijay Dubey is contesting in Kushinagar and against him, SP has fielded the son of former BJP MLA Janmejay Singh.
Then there is Swami Prasad Maurya, who is also staking claim from Kushinagar, who formed his own new party after breaking ties with SP.
Let us tell you that last time BJP lost two out of 7 seats and the winning margin on the two seats was less than 16000 votes. This time SP and Congress have laid siege here with great strength. On one hand, Om Prakash Rajbhar’s strength is at stake in Ghosi because his son Arvind Rajbhar is contesting the elections. In view of this, Om Prakash Rajbhar also has a huge responsibility.
Union Minister Mahendra Nath Pandey, who won from SP last time, is also fighting a tough battle against the SP candidate. Not only this, Anupriya Patel also has the challenge of scoring a hat-trick in Mirzapur and maintaining her party’s victory in Robertsganj. Congress state president Ajay Rai is also standing against PM Narendra Modi from Varanasi seat.
